The university offers a comprehensive range of services in the area of video and conferencing systems, specifically tailored to the needs of teaching, hybrid teaching, internal project management, communication, and organization. We provide four different systems that offer a variety of applications and meet the highest data protection standards, as they are partially operated on our own servers.

Commercial web conferencing service of HWR Berlin for conducting web conferences. Provided via Microsoft 365 (external hosting)

DFNconf: Pexip, Adobe Connect
DFNconf combines the video platforms Pexip and Adobe Connect.
- Access to the DFNconf portal: Central management environment for meeting rooms and recordings of the Pexip-based platform. Additionally, it provides access to the web conferencing platform based on Adobe Connect.
- Use of Pexip: Video and telephone conferences within the framework of DFNconf. There is the possibility to stream events.
- Use of Adobe Connect: The web conferencing platform Adobe Connect enables the implementation of webinars, particularly in the e-learning sector, within the scope of DFNconf.

BigBlueButton (BBB)
Open-source web conferencing service of HWR Berlin for conducting web conferences. The service is provided on the university’s servers (internal hosting).
- Provision and administration of BigBlueButton on multiple instances including a load balancer for conducting web conferences, primarily for digital classes, public events, internal meetings, or oral exams with up to about 100 participants
- Includes features like polls, whiteboard, chat, shared notes, recordings, breakout rooms
- Integration into Moodle, allowing meeting rooms to be added as activities directly in courses (including the transfer of participants in their)
