Dear students,
multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security method that provides an additional layer of protection for digital accounts and applications. Instead of relying on a single authentication element, such as a password, MFA combines multiple factors to ensure that only authorised users can access a system.
You probably already use MFA for private purposes such as online banking, Facebook, Paypal or certain email accounts.
Since the winter semester 2024-2025, MFA for Microsoft services (e.g. office.com or MS Teams) has already been mandatory for newly enrolled students. This will now be extended to ALL students on August 1st 2025.

Remember to set up the procedure in good time! From August 1st, you will no longer be able to use MS services without MFA.
